Swearin’ in the Rain

One of those days where thing were accomplished but just enough fucked up along the way that a sense of satisfaction was just out of reach. This so-so mood was not helped by the weather on the drive home. The term ‘isolated thunderstorm’ is one we have all heard at one point or another and today I got a face FULL of it. It was a little overcast but generally sunny when I pulled out of the parking lot of work. It became more and more dismal and I went down I-285 towards home. The further I went though, the more ‘dismal’ was an understatement! You know the weather is bad when you see the rain as a wall of water getting blown about in the strong winds that were blowing it around in waves. Pretty soon we couldn’t see 5 feet in front us on the road and were going 3 miles an hour if we were lucky. I tried alternate routes to get home faster and generally it would have been better to sit on the interstate. There were street lights blown out and roads that were washed out all over the place.

Bleh. These are the days I hate the job and hate driving to and from it even more.

So I came home to Angela and Rebecca sitting in the Living Room drinking beer and talking politics. After I decompressed a bit from the day I joined them and it was an enjoyable experience. In these times people need to talk about what is going on, even and especially if they don’t agree. Times when individuals in America could be blisfully uninvolved in the world around them is passing and can only be ignored to our collective peril. So, in short, PAY ATTENTION AND VOTE! I don’t CARE what side of the arguement you fall on, PARTICIPATE!

So, the payment has been sent on the Disney G4. Soon enough I will have that little bugger in my crutches, stay tuned.

You mean clutches, not crutches. :P I’m glad you got home safe, I remember the lights kept flickering and the dish went out for an hour yesterday. Took Russ about an hour to get home, and its a 20 min drive.
