More with the Busy

Damn, long day at work, then off to get ready for Free Comic Book Day! Like many times, things are really good, just so much is going on. I’ve been working out the past few months, so now my brain isn’t as mushy as it once was. The downside is wanting to do so much with the new found energy.

Oh well, there is always something.

This weekend was good, much was done. Monday the same, but in a different way. I’ve posted a new comic for Monday and for a variety of reasons, it took the longest out of all of them to date. Goddamn squirrels, even in ink form they torment me!

Back to the Free Comic Book Day Sampler. It’s coming together, now I just need to get the cover sorted out. I’ve been picking out comics for the Sampler and most of them are from this year! When it comes to goals for right now, I just keep working on the next comic. 100 is my current goal and I hope to reach it before the end of the year. I like the stuff from the past six months a LOT more than the earlier work. Heh, I’m guessing I’ll feel similar to the current work a year from now! Oh well, we’ll see where I take this.

;-)

A Rainy Sunday

The rain moved yesterday afternoon and decided to stay for a bit. We were planning to go to the Inman Park Festival, but we might skip that if the rain doesn’t let up. At least things have cooled off a little and we have the windows open for now. I know soon enough, we will have to keep them shut with the air conditioning on. Currently, we’re both in the computer room getting stuff done. I’ve got a comic to get out for tomorrow and the Free Comic Book Day Sampler to assemble. Angela is working on the website of our favorite New Age magazine.

Time to turn on the Pink Floyd and geek at home for a change.

It’s Late

We just shooed Emily out the door and it’s time for bed. I hope I get some sleep tonight or else it’s gonna be a long Friday. At least we’re finally to the weekend, yeah! We’re scheduled to go see Stormy and Jim tomorrow, a couple people we met at the tornado benefit this past weekend. I look forward to it. Now, to sleep.

The Mancelona Play Room

My brother Patrick and his wife Teresa are putting together their new play room. As you can tell, it’s VERY colorful! Teresa put the pics up on the Better Homes & Gardens website and wrote this:

You have been invited to view my Spring Clean Up Contest photo gallery on BHG.com. Please use the link below to view, rate, and recommend my photos!

We have done our spring cleaning in a room to put his model making and my quilting in. It’s not finished, but I entered a contest and want your vote! I think you can enter everyday! Thank you! I wanna win this one!

Well, go take a look!

Weekend Wrapup

I’ll sum it up quick.

Saturday was the Tornado Benefit at Lenny’s as well as the MINT Show: Windows II. It was a HELL of a lot of fun and just as exhausting. There was great art, great people and more than a few pictures taken. Here is some that we taken by the buxom blonde that bought Angela’s window. I will be posting my pics this week (honest!). I’ll post a link when I do.

Sunday we slept in until about 1 o’clock that afternoon. Oddly enough, it wasn’t because we were drunk off our asses (we were quite sober by the time we came home), nor was it because of watching the Sun come up (we were to bed before 2 a.m.). It was because of the previously mentioned whirlwind of the day. We took our time reading the paper and finally did some stuff around the house.

We took down all the blinds in the house and washed them for the first time since we moved in. It was a pain in the ass job, but things looked much better afterwards. After we got all of that cleaned up, we grilled out and the food turned out great! It was much better than the last time a couple weeks ago, where I burned most of to a cinder.

Today was going to work at the daily grind. I got the work done and managed to do some work on a couple painting projects. I’ve been working on painting the screens for our old metal windows and also fixing up a busted bird bath for Angela’s birdies. Tonight I finished up the Think Weasel comic posted earlier and now I’m tired as Hell.

Time for bed.
