Rainy Sunday
July 13th, 2008 | by Nick |This is the most rain we’ve gotten in a while. It’s been a good day to work on getting the tremendous amount of crap done that needs to happen before the trip. For one, tomorrow’s ThinkWeasel strip is set to go live tomorrow morning. I’ve also repaired the hinge on our neighbors’ crawlspace door that I popped to check for Bernie. Right now, I’m getting together the information important for the trip. Dates, times and address for all the involved parties…I feel like we’re planning the D-Day invasion sometimes. I need to get these emails out, then I’m back on the ThinkWeasel Sampler. Our current plan is to send send a box of crap out by Wednesday so that we don’t have to carry it on the plane.
Other random bits:
- Angela’s iPod Nano arrived from eBay earlier this week. It was a great deal, but also an example of how they should always have a cover on them. This one was owned by a woman and it was scratched up from bouncing around in her purse.
- My niece’s iBook arrived and I just started copying files off when it made a horrible metal grinding noise as it died. Remember to BACK UP your files everybody, hard dives die, sometimes when you least expect it.
- Angela’s battery backup started shutting itself off randomly, so I had to replace that too.
- I bought a 250 GB drive from MicroCenter to make sure that we have enough space in our backup computer. It never hurts to follow your own advice.
- Russ and Janel were married yesterday and it was a lot of fun. It was truly a ceremony that reflected who they are, I’m very happy for them.
- I was the designated driver our drive to the wedding. I wisely stopped drinking 3 hours before leaving and had some coffee as well. I unwisely had 3 cups of French-pressed, Jamaican blue mountain before leaving. That left me with a caffeine buzz so bad that I was up to 2:30 in the morning. That was AFTER taking a sleeping pill. Heh, at least I didn’t drive drunk.
