Back at Home

August 5th, 2008

It’s nice to be back at my home computer again.

The trip back on the Delta 757 sardine can was cramped, but uneventful. It’s one of those planes where the seats are six across and you have to put your elbows right next to your body just to keep from hitting the people next to you. I watched Kung Fu Panda on their little built-in TVs with one channel of audio. It was a pretty good movie, I’ll be curious to see how it is under better circumstances. The ride back on MARTA was hot, sticky and a huge contrast to the BART system in San Francisco. Angela has mentioned how bad mass transit in Atlanta was and now I see what she compared it to.

There is much to be done today. Bags need to be unpacked, clothes need to be washed and the lawn is waiting for me as I write this. More later after getting some work done.

Heading Back

August 4th, 2008

This trip has been and blast and now we’re heading back to Atlanta. Everything is packed and now we’re waiting on the cab that will take us to BART. Hopefully the TSA won’t want to probe us much and the flight will go as expected.

Sunday Update

August 4th, 2008

We did the family thing for my Grandfather’s birthday yesterday and it was a lot of fun. It was the first time in many years that we were able to get as much of the family together and it was worth it. Now we’re going back out to Chinatown to hang out with friends.

Quick Update

August 2nd, 2008

My Uncle is on the way to pick us up, so I’ll make this one quick. We are at the Diablo Mountain Inn in Walnut Creek, east of San Francisco. The train got us here late Thursday night and after a couple taxis and a BART ride, we were to the hotel. Yesterday, Angela and I took a walking tour of downtown San Francisco and then went Skates on the Bay in Berkeley for dinner with family that night. Today, we are getting together with family to celebrate my grandfather’s 90th birthday.

That’s it for now, more later.

California Sunset

Not a bad sunset, since it was taken through the dirty window of a moving train! We are in San Luis Opispo and glad to be off the train. Once again, I have found a ‘linksys’ network open and decided to post. This is from earlier when I took the picture:
