Knoxville Trip

Saturday. Only full day in Knoxville.

Went to Pigeon Forge to look at a Honda Civic. Nice car but the price was too high. Much to our surprise somebody came in after us and paid that same price cash. Guess they needed a car badly, suckers. Did some shopping and got some lunch while in the area. Ate at a restaraunt where it is split into 3 areas: Chinese, Italian and Mexican food. You go to the front door, tell them what kind of food you want and they sit you in that area. Interesting concept, we had Mexican.

Came back to help Angela’s Dad with a Dell that they’d bought for the office. Much to my surprise, the damn thing came together well. If I was to buy a new PC (unlikely) I would get a Dell. They are almost as good as a Mac. 🙂 Her brother finally showed up at this point. We we’re to go to CompUSA to buy some stuff for the iMac but he assed around the YMCA pool and lost track of time. Finally about 7:30 p.m. After finishing with the PC and wrangling Angela’s family, we took him and Denna to go get hardware.

Note to self, don’t take a guy with ADD to do computer shopping when everybody is tired. We picked up everthing they needed, but the drama sucked the fun out of it for us. At this point, drinks and food were needed.

We were originally planning to go check out some of the “hip” part of Knoxville. After dealing with the CompUSA mess though, it was to the nearest watering hole! This ended up being a Ruby Tuesday only a few minutes away (this was a good thing). Fortunately, the food and drink were better than any one of the locations down by us in Atlanta. We later found out from our waitress that this particular one wasn’t far from the Corporate offices and was visited regularly by the suits. Lucky us, a half dozen Jewler’s Hammers later we were in better shape.
