A Close Call

You can’t tell by the look of it, but this stuff almost burned my neighbor’s house down.

I’m really tired now, the stress of the day has sucked the energy right out of me. Basically, the story goes like this… I was working in the carport, getting ready to change a light bulb. That’s when I looked over and noticed the flames and black smoke coming from Emily’s carport. I screamed for Angela to call the fire department and ran over to get a better look. There, I discovered a planter and trellis on fire, with the flames reaching for the ceiling. I managed to pull down the burning plastic and drag it the concrete away from other flammable material. By the time the fire department got there, the fire was out and they checked to make sure it stayed that way.

It could have been worse, a lot worse.

  1. You are awesome Nick. I hope our neighbors would have that kind of presence of mind if anything like that ever happened to us.

  2. Thank for saying that, I hope they do too.

As for me, I’ve seen people I care for go through that and I will do whatever I can to prevent that from happening again.
