This Past Weekend

Insomnia has seemed to have kicked in, so I thought it would be a good time to write something. My tired mind is bouncing across a bunch of different possible subjects, so I’ll try to pick a couple and hopefully make some sense.

Summer is only a few days from officially being here and it is already as hot and muggy as the worst of August. I was hoping it would hold off for a little while longer, but it looks like that’s not going to happen. Adapting to this oppressive heat feels harder than it was before, maybe I’m just getting tired of it after 20 years.

This past weekend was pretty busy. Saturday we checked out the Waffle House Museum and the Sci-Fi Summer Con. The museum is small but interesting and we even got to meet one of the founders of Waffle House. The Con was bigger than last year but still pretty small. I’m impressed in a way that the gamer room could smell like that after being set up for such a short period of time. Sunday we checked out the car exhibit at the High Museum. Though the cars weren’t always displayed in a way that gave us a good view, it was still great to see them. We planned to go to the Art-B-Que in Avondale Estates at some point that weekend, but the heat made the idea of an outdoor festival impossible.

I have pictures to post once I get around to doing it.

  1. It’s not the GAMING room that smells, it’s the people. A massive amount of people who don’t even understand the concept of washing their butt stuffed into one room. Ugh.
So is the waffle house museum worth checking out?

  2. Very true on the gamers, I stand corrected! 😉

Yes, it’s worth checking out, but don’t make the trip just to see that. It’s small enough that I suggest seeing it when you’re going to Little 5 Points or something else in the area.
