On top of everything else, the Ranger developed an oil leak. It appears to be from around where my mechanic recently replaced the main pulley. Its had other issues and we’re hoping this truck doesn’t turn out to be a lemon.
Right now, I’m waiting for Angela. She’s up at TEV dealing with a plumber that’s fixing some damage caused by nearby construction. Naturally, this happens when the owner is on vacation.
We hauled the last load from Maplehurst today. I closed the blinds and locked the doors for the last time. It took a while to happen, but it was a casualty of the Great Recession.

The dust hasn’t even settled on moving (in fact, there are several bits left to do) and now we need to head to Knoxville for a funeral. Angela got the call yesterday morning that a guy she grew up with (and was the best friend of her brother) was electrocuted on the job and killed. We just don’t know how much time we have here, make the most of it.

The movers will be here in a few hours and we will call a new place home for the first time in 10 years.
As a parting gift, one of the squirrels left us a freshly ripened (half-eaten) tomato on our deck railing. It would have been a nice gesture, if it wasn’t stolen from our own tomato plant!
This weekend is the final phase of our moving into the new place. Tomorrow, the movers come and the major furniture is taken care of. At some point, I’m hoping to sleep!
During the week, I would load up some stuff in the truck, then take it over to the house at lunch. On my days off, we would take even more. We did two loads for today. It’s not as easy as it was moving 10 years ago, but we’re making progress. Tomorrow, more moving and more prep on the new place.
