Finally Getting Better

Here it is, almost two weeks to the day since that last post. Boy, I didn’t expect this snotfest to continue for so long!

The pollen continued to mess with us that entire week. By the time Friday rolled around, we were both pretty miserable and even cancelled going to Trek Trax that weekend because of it. This was a big thing, because we went so far as to buy a table in a show of support for the second year of this event. Table aside, there was no way we could have done it. So we ate the cost and stayed home, trying to get better. This was Angela’s time of filling the wastebaskets with tissues.

The problem for both of us was that it was becoming more than an allergic reaction. Angela was coughing so hard that she was starting to get bronchitis and mostly lost her voice for days. I was just kept feeling worse as the week passed and by Wednesday night, we finally knew why. Taking my temperature, we discovered for the first time in years I had a fever of 101F! The next two days I stayed home from work to rest and finally the fever broke Friday night. Since Wednesday, its been my time for filling the wastebaskets with tissues.

Its been a long road back to feeling better for the both of us, but I think we’re finally making progress.

Death By Privet

Angela started a death by snot phase this weekend. This privet, which is all around our house, is the reason. Even I noticed the sheer volume of pollen in the air when getting home from work this evening. Too bad the weather is so nice, we’re going to have to wait until it rains to open back up the house now! Hopefully, with the air conditioning system filtering out this crap, she can sleep tonight.

Recent Stuff

Spring is in the air and the weather has been beautiful! Thankfully, the pollen is finally easing off and we’re both able to breathe again.

Change has been in the air with the coming of the blooming. Our neighbors decided to buy a house and they closed on it last week! It’s been a crazy experience, but they are now moved in. We’re sorry to lose them as next door neighbors, but we wish them the best of luck as homeowners!
