The In-Laws

I was planning to write about Valentine’s Day, but their bullshit got here first… I am amazed how well Angela turned out despite her family.

Dealing with reality on reality’s terms is a hard lesson that we (Angela and I) both have learned… and her family have ignored. Gratitude for the things and people in our lives is another we work to practice… that (again) her family ignores.
We set her brother up with a newer (several years newer) computer than what he was using (a 14 year old eMac) in an attempt to help his situation however we could. In return, all we get are phone calls bitching about how it’s not set up exactly how his painfully old one was.
The latest call was tonight, what a goddamn mess… FFS… In all my years I’ve NEVER heard of someone using Photoshop to fill out a PDF form. THAT is why you want that program set up on your system? Of course they couldn’t fucking TELL me they use that goddamn program for ANYTHING when I was setting up their new system. No, they could only call and bitch about what they were thinking didn’t magically fucking happen.
No gratitude… Just print the goddamn form and scan THAT, how does that sound?
Sorry, it’s a moment of ranting.

  1. Sorry pal. In for a favor, in for a life of tech support servitude. Sometimes your better off just playing dumb. Hindsight being 20/20, maybe going forward you don’t know anything about the software they are talking about… “photoshop, isnt that what models use.. is that a makeup? PDF? You mean Pretty Darn Fast? Gosh, no.. you know more about that than I do”

  2. I’m sorry all the family drama rubs off on you, honey. I can tell you that this incident has convinced me to try once again to just ignore them and pretend I’m an orphan. I love you for having my back! <3
