New G4 & Jury Duty

I am posting from Angela’s new G4 tower! It is sitting at my desk so that she can transfer her files over tomorrow. I’m glad we were finally able to get it for her.

The jury duty went quickly. They got who they needed and sent us packing around noon.

Buncha Stuff

So its Tuesday and life continues. I am winding down quickly and want to get some stuff down before crashing. After all, I have JURY DUTY tomorrow, so I’d better get to sleep so I can be down there at 8:15 a.m.!

Bleh.

I know, its great to live in the this country where the rule of law (and not the rule of force) is alive and well (as much as it can be in this world). Just remind me of that when I’m sucking down coffee when I’m waiting at the courthouse.

Anyway, here is some of what has been going on, in chronological order.

Saturday was Angela’s last day working at Mimosa Salon. Our other work has been picking up nicely and its time for the inherent flakiness of a Salon job to be kicked to the curb. Thisd was also the day I was getting my ass kicked by the Dining Room blind. Long story short, the universe wanted to see just HOW bad we wanted a cover for that window. This was also when we had David, Cody and Diana over for dinner. Much fun was had and Angela did her usual wonderful job with the meal. This is also when our little bitch cat, Bernie, mixed it up with the damn black cat from across the street and treed herself yet again in a attmept to get away from him. She made herself scare late that night and we didn’t see her until Monday morning. She worried the HELL out of us and is now grounded.

Who needs kids?

This brings us to Sunday, but I am getting tired by this point. There was a great party that day with a matching hangover on Monday. More details to come.

By the way, did I mention I intend to marry Angela? There WILL be more about that!

Thursday Already?

Yes, this week has been going quickly. Here is a quick recap since our last episode…

This weekend we worked our asses off in the yard cutting down brush, pictures are forthcoming. Saturday night was the last night of the goth club the Chamber and we were there and it was one hell of a time. Monday we were wiped out from all the weekend yard work and weren’t nearly as active (we watched TV). It was my day off so we ended up going down to Little 5 Points for lunch. Tuesday was back to the pre-press grind and working on Crescent Moon stuff that night (and watching TV). Wednesday was a long day at work but much creative stuff was accomplished. I have been working on their website and some of the advertising stuff trying to make it look better. Funny in this business how the last advertising material a company always works on is their own. Wednesday night was more freelance work (a little TV) and a LOT of bad weather. The wind was pretty damn strong and we lost power a little past midnight. This morning was looking at the couple of inches of snow that fell before sucking down large amounts of coffee and heading to work so I could look busy for most of the day. Tonight, after a nap, involved doing open heart surgery on the iBook to replace the CD drive with a Combo drive. The operation was a success and the patient will be featured on an eBay auction near you.

So there you go. Any questions? Good.

Friday Night

DAMN, what a week! They made me earn my pay at work this time. One of our clients was a major pain in the butt with how scattered and frenzied it was. Heh, trying to install Linux on a couple of the old Macs at work during my spare time was no walk in the park either! Linux may be free, but it is generally still for those computer users who care to make their Kernel Commands just so. The whole week of crap was only so important though.

New Work Website

After much talk over the past year, the pre-press shop I work for now has a new domain. The new address is actually using the company name (neat idea, huh?), as opposed the the previous domain (used since 1996) www.nvgpage.com. The copy of the old website I linked to is cached at the website, Archive.org.

I’m glad to see it happen, it has been something that needed to change since I started working at this company 6 years ago!
