The End of the Day

Does it rhyme? Sort of. Is it good? I don’t care. It carries a moment of truth for me, no matter how poor the vessel.

What do you do at the end of the day, regret the world and wish it away? Do you maybe hope for more in the morning, something good that you wish just might stay?

Hope for the real, the good and the bad. Because it carries more weight than any hope or fear that exists in your head.

March Drink & Draw

Decatur Drink and Draw Poster

Cross-posted to Think Weasel! and IndigoDragon Studios.

On the first Monday of every month, the Mellow Mushroom in Decatur does a Drink & Draw starting at 8 p.m. They have live models that pose in various super hero costumes while a trivia contest is going on. Usually it’s the fantastic Chris and Miracole Burns modeling, this time around it will be their friends Ned & Margie. The food is good, the company even better and it’s great fun! Maybe you should come out and join us. 😉

Site Changes

There have been various developments on the site recently. Last week someone hacked my site and inserted various Splog (Spam Blog) links in the majority of my posts. As a result, I’ve taken down all my entries and I’m reposting them once I clean them up.

This week my site was migrated to a new server. As time passes, more of what I want to run on this site requires PHP5 so I put in the request to my webhost. WordPress made the transition without issue, but the software I use for my photo gallery melted down and I haven’t been able to fix it yet.

So the biggest question for me is, what is the future of this site? The Internet has changed a lot over the years this place has been set up and I think what I want to do with it has changed as well. Once I have a better idea of what changes I’ll make, I’ll post more.

Septic Chaos

Last weekend we noticed a muddy spot in the yard and it hadn’t rained in days. After closer inspection, we realized it was the area above our septic tank. It was possible that our worst fear, that it had stopped working, had come to pass. Sadly by the end of the week, our plumbers came out and confirmed that our field lines had collapsed.

Those were replaced this weekend. It was hard, back breaking work, but they are all replaced now. I have some pictures up on Facebook and I plan to post them here later. For now, I am still tired from this weekend and just wanted to get a bit up.

Writing..on…INTEL?!

This is the first entry I’ve written on an Intel based Mac. Granted, thanks to the brilliance of Apple, I can’t tell the difference. I’m still loopy from the cold and drinking on a Friday, but it’s pretty cool to say the least.

I’ve been around for awhile, long enough to go from the client-server based systems, to desktops, back to the MacBook Air and Internet-based client systems. God, there is something amusing  to being of the generation that wondered what would happen when we broke the 100 MHz barrier… What goes around does indeed come around.
